Springtime Scraps

by Vicki

Spring is coming fast and it’s time to start cleaning out all your scraps – that’s right scraps!  You’ll be amazed once you see what you can create with your scraps.  Just collect up all your glass scraps and fabric scraps (even if you don’t have any I bet you know someone who sews or quilts) and turn them into a beautiful fabric flower bouquet in a mosaic vase.

This is a 2 day class - both of the projects are fun and easy – no glass or sewing experience required.  We’ll start with the mosaic vase and then while the grout is drying move on to the flowers.  By the time we’re done you’ll have a showpiece.

The flowers are cut out of fabric that has been bonded together using pellon (fusible interfacing – aka wonder under).  Some of the flowers have wire to hold the petals while others don’t.  They all have a center that can be just about anything and are attached to a stem wire with floral tape.  Make a wide variety of flowers or pick your favorite and do a whole bunch.

The mosaic vase starts with a glass or vase that you’ll cover with glass pieces.  You can use transparent or opaque glass and can get as simple or complex as you’d like with your design.

*Bring a pair of sharp scissors.

If you don’t want to get the supplies yourself they can be purchased for a $10.00 supply fee at class (Scissors excluded).  This will give you a real variety to choose from with a lower cost to you.

Class fee is $65.00
